This week, John Ross, interim Executive Director of Talking Talons Youth Leadership program.  The program was one of our grant recipients from last year.  The mission is to educate future leaders to help prevent climate change. 

Currently active though clubs for 5th graders in the Manzano APS cluster, Talking Talons is building middle school and high school programs. Talking Talons also runs a youth conversation corps to provide outdoor work experience for high school students. 

Tutors Needed

Byron Zahm is recruiting tutors to take part in the Tutor Doctor charity tutoring program. The program will take place from 5:30-6:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays through May at Calvary Church. Contact Byron if you would like to volunteer.

 

Congrats to Mitch Selking on the birth of his new grandson and to Kit Turpin running for NM State Senate.
 

We're collecting items for Pursonalties Plus and the Citizen Church homeless drive for the next few months... Bring items from the above list to Jimmy's and we'll get them were they need to go!

We are now looking for towels in addition to hygiene items, blankets and jewelry.

February is grant month - we are looking for New Mexico based charities that focus on children to award $55,000 worth of grants.  Know of a charity that could benefit - send them to our website for the requirements document due at the end of February.
