Last week we heard from Byron Zahm about his company - Tutor Doctor and their scholarship program that matches volunteer tutors with people who need help and can't afford it.  Vicki Turpin participated in the program for over 18 months helping an older blind student get her GED.  The student passed and recently bought a house.  Elizabeth Montoya has also been instrumental 

The thing that sets Tutor Doctor apart is that the tutoring takes place in the students home and everything is customized from the choice of tutor (the tutors range from smart high school students to Ph.Ds) to the curriculum. 

 

Exciting plans are in motion for club fundraisers ranging from an upcoming restaurant night and pancake breakfast to a paint night and a cowboy poetry event.  Want to jump in and help? Let Brad know... Many hands make light work....

Don Chalmers Grants - Spread the Word

 

February is grant month - we are looking for New Mexico based charities that focus on children to award $55,000 worth of grants.  Know of a charity that could benefit - send them to our website for the requirements document due at the end of February.
