Todd Loudon shares about Next Step Ministries

This last week we *finally* inducted Bob and Michele Mals as our newest club members and celebrated Dan Wilkinson's birthday along with our club's 27th anniversary>

Todd Loudon gave a very insightful presentation on Next Step Ministries which helps men (and soon women) make the internal and spiritual changes needed to successfully transition out of a prison or program into a productive life. We had a lively discussion with lots of very good questions from our club members.

Happy Birthday Rotary Del Sol

February 14 was our club's 27th anniversary of our chartering. We celebrated at our meeting with a birthday cake for Dan (who also had a birthday last week!) Over the years, we've made a big impact on our community (raising over $1 million for an endowment for children's charities) and supporting countless projects. And, we've all had a lot of fun and made some great friends along the way.

Welcome Bob and Michele Mals!

A warm welcome to our newest members Bob and Michele Mals who were officially inducted at our club meeting this week. Although they have just become "official" members, they've already had a huge impact on the club by spearheading a recurring donation drive for the homeless and Purseonalities Plus. Bob was part of the Daybreakers Club in Durango. We are glad to have them both as members of our club.

We're collecting items for Pursonalties Plus and the Citizen Church homeless drive for the next few months... Bring items from the above list to Jimmy's and we'll get them were they need to go!

Dan Wilkinson will be delivering our donations to Noon Day at the rock on 2/18. Please contact him if you would like to help deliver.

Don Chalmers Grants - Spread the Word

February is grant month - we are looking for New Mexico based charities that focus on children to award $55,000 worth of grants. Know of a charity that could benefit - send them to our website for the requirements document due at the end of February.

Talking Talons Youth Leadership

Talking Talons Youth Leadership is one of our Don Chalmers grant recipients. Interim Director John Ross will share about the program and it's progress this year. John has served in the nonprofit sector since 1976. He has seen the industry from many angles: he has worked with United Way, served in a wide range of agency leadership positions and chaired and/or participated in numerous community collaborations. However, being a part of Talking Talons Youth Leadership with its focus on supporting and mentoring young people who will be our Climate Change Leaders is the highlight of John’s career. John and his wife Janie love to travel, hug on their five grandchildren, hike and hang out in their garden.
