On Saturday, May 2, a team of Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Albquerque del Sol completed Phase 1 of a 2020 club service project. The project will plant 50 trees in the International District, a neighborhood in Albuquerque that has seen a decline in its urban tree canopy over the past 20 years.

With outstanding help from the Forestry Division of the City Parks & Recreation Department, the Del Sol Rotarians planted five trees at Mesa Verde Park.  The rest of the trees will be planted around the neighborhood later this year.  The project is funded by a District Grant from Rotary International.  “The true meaning of life is to plant a tree under whose shade you do not expect to sit.”
