On February 10, 2022, Mayor Tim Keller was the featured speaker. He spoke about several important topics effecting Albuquerque residents. He said our economy is doing well and home prices are up. We are experiencing a net gain in population.
Mayor Tim was a Rotarian when he worked in Cambodia. He has an undergraduate degree from Notre Dame and an MBA from Harvard.
Two of the big issues he discussed were crime and homelessness. He said crime is a big issue statewide and described the work of the Metro Crime Initiative which has many of the important members of State and Local Government on it, including Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Mayor Keller and District Attorney Raul Torrez. They have identified five key things that would help in the fight against crime. One of those, the Pre Trial Detention Bill is under consideration in the current session of the New Mexico Legislature.
