1. Governors Charity Ball Committee Sign-Up below

Now that we have selected our charity (Beds4Kidz) and the Rotary Club of Albuquerque has selected its charity (STEM Resources — R4 Creating), we will now focus on populating the various Committees.  Below is a link to a sign-up form for the committees that includes a brief description of what each one will be focusing on.  Since this bulletin goes to many people who are not members (either Active or Honorary) of our Club, you can sign up as well (we would just need you to include in the form your contact info and what your affiliation is with our Club such as Interactor, Community Partner, etc.).  As usual, we need as many volunteers to help with the Governors Charity Ball as possible, and we will continue to work collaboratively with the Rotary Club of Albuquerque to make sure that we are not carrying the bulk of the workload.  Here is the link:

2.  Club Meetings

This past Thursday, we had Jon Spargo from the New Mexico Steam Locomotive and Railroad Historical Society as our special guest presenter!  It was one of the most interesting presentations we've had this year.  If you have suggestions for great speakers like Jon, please contact Ron Hensley or Jeff Weinrach and we'll get them scheduled.

This week, we have a Twilight Meeting on Tuesday evening at Nexus Brewery and our regular Thursday meeting at Jimmy's (both also on zoom).  Meredith will be sending out detailed information for both in the coming days.

3.  Mitch Selking riding for polio eradication in the Tour de Tuscon.

Please considering supporting our Club's Rotary Foundation Committee Chair, Mitch Selking, who will be riding in the Tour de Tuscon as a fund-raiser for polio eradication.  A sponsorship here will count towards this year's club goal related to donations to Polio Plus, and it will also be counted towards your Rotary giving History. Follow this link to donate:

4.  Roadrunner Food Bank Fall Food Drive!

Earlier today, Club Member Engagement Sub-Committee Chair, Dave Simon, e-mailed out a request to help the Roadrunner Food Bank in its annual Fall Food Drive.  Please refer to Dave's communication for the specifics.

5. November Birthdays and other dates to celebrate, support each other, etc.

Julie Frendle - November 13th

Brian Fisher - November 16th

Brad Ekhoff - November 18th

Rotary Happenings

November is Rotary Foundation Month.  Our Club has been and continues to be one of the most supportive Clubs of the Rotary Foundation in our District, not just in our financial support but also in our use of the Foundation to support our District and Global Grants.

District Happenings

1.  District Governor John Drusedum's blood drive challenge is still in effect through January 31st.  The goal is a total of 1000 units collected ("1000 Pints of Life").  Last year, the District gave out four Paul Harris Awards, and will do it again this year for the clubs with most pints donated.  More information on the Blood Drive Challenge can be found here:  documents/en-us/d1f076f4-1ea7-421c-abaa-df7d0e043a7d/1).

2.  On November 19th, the District will be having another installment of the Rotary Leadership Institute.  If you are new to Rotary or interested in getting into Rotary Leadership, please consider attending.  This will be Part 2, but you can attend if you have not taken Part 1 yet.
