This past week, we had a very important and timely Club Assembly led by incoming President Davis Riordan focused on approval from our membership for our incoming Board (all Board members were approved unanimously!) and discussing our financial sustainability plan. The discussion was very helpful, and discussions will continue over the coming weeks in preparation for our new Rotary year starting July 1st. And our Rotarian of the Day was our outstanding Club Membership Committee Chair, Jeff Faulwell!
This week, our very special guest presenter on Thursday morning will be a great friend of our Club and member of Albuquerque Del Norte, Jim Quick, who is the President of the New Mexico Chapter of Folds of Honor!
Thanks in large part to the dedicated effort of Club New Generations/Youth Programs Committee Chair, Jennifer Huffaker, we'll be sending Juliana Wardroup-Sanchez to RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) camp this year! We can't wait to hear from Juliana about what her experience was like! Due to the pandemic, RYLA camp was not being held the last few years, and it's great to see that it's back up and running. It's one of the most important Rotary programs that we can support each year!
3. End-of-Year Freeloaders this Saturday!
Our end-of-year Freeloaders bash will be Saturday, June 17th at Kent and Melanie Cravens' home. Along with the typical shenanigans, we'll be presenting Club Awards and Recognitions along with inducting President Davis and the incoming Club Board. If you intend on coming to the Freeloaders, please contact Kent (kent@kentcravens.com) to let Kent and Melanie know what food item you will be bringing. They will be taking care of the main course.
Please use the link below to register for the event (and please include guests):
We're still looking for riders for our Cycling for Cycles fund-raiser. Please consider registering through the website (https://women2be.org), and also spread the word including through the brochures (Brad sent brochures out to everyone by e-mail in late May) and also the video below.
5. Project SMART "Train the Trainer" for Naloxone Class!
We are also looking for volunteers to be part of our upcoming Project SMART (School Education, Medicine and Drug Disposal, Awareness, Recovery, and Treatment) "Train the Trainer" Naloxone class for 20 to 25 people (they do not need to be Rotarians). If you are interested in being one of our trainers for this roll-out, please contact President Jeff at 1-505-400-1403 or jweinrach5520@nmia.com.

7. Ramp Project Final Report - Summary Report
Greg Hallstrom recently submitted the final report for our District Grant. Here are the highlights:
Five wheelchair ramps for disabled individuals were constructed. (2 ramps were planned but material costs came down, so we were able to build 5.) Some of these ramps required disassembly of old and unsafe ramps, and safe wheelchair ramps were built using the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines.
The individuals for whom we built the ramps can now get in and out of their houses safely as they go to medical appointments and other activities outside the home. Caregivers are also beneficiaries as they help the people get in and out of their houses safely. The feelings of isolation and depression are reduced, and individuals are able to interact socially outside the home, which can be a prison at times when one cannot get out.
For the Club, we worked on this project 35 Rotarian volunteer days and a total of 180 volunteer hours! HUGE congratulations to Greg, Phil, and everyone who worked on the ramp project!
