This week in Rotary
On April 5, 2021 at the Satellite Meeting for all Del Sol Rotarians, Anna Pentler from the New Mexico Immunization Coalition was the guest speaker.  Her talk was a status report on how New Mexico is doing on the Covid 19 Vaccination. She said New Mexico has already administered 1,301,137 doses of the vaccine.   Anna said that since the operations of UNMH ave moved to the Pit they can now do 2000 people a day.  She said it is a very organized effort. They have a cadre of people who call on people who do not have smart phones or computers.

New Mexico is leading the nation in the percentage of its population that has been vaccinated.  Over 60% of people over age 75 have received their vaccinations.

Anna also told us how the public can have access to print out their vaccination record if they need it for travel out of the country.

Greg Hallstrom reported that the Ramps Project current grant is completed and the report submitted.   In addition Del Sol has committed $5000 of Club Funds to the Ramps project.  No project was scheduled  for this weekend.  Thanks to Greg for all his effort on this project.  Also thanks to all the Rotarians who spent countless hours on building and installing ramps.

Jeff Weinrach said that on May 8 there will be a District Assembly for incoming Officers.  Registration is free and is on the District 5520 Website.

This Thursday April 15, the Morning Meeting for all Del Sol Rotarians will be a Hybrid Meeting.  Members wishing to a attend live at Jimmy's Cafe should please try to sign up on the Website so the Club and Jimmy's cafe know how many people to  expect.  Members attending live should arrive at Jimmy's by 6:45AM so the meeting can start on time.  Members wishing to attend via ZOOM will receive a link from Davis Riordan, Club Secretary.

The Club has puchased a new computer, camera and microphone to make the hYbrid meeting go more smoothly. IMPOrTANT: if you are attending via ZOOM, please mute your microphone  unless you are called upon to speak.

This will be a very important meeting because Tony Pino Joe Corazzi and Ron Hensley will be giving us an update on the April 24 Telethon.  This is a different event for us and we all have a lot to learn about it.  So please attend either in person or via ZOOM.

Kudos to all the people involved with the Health Care Heroes project which is winding down this month.  From Service Chair Chris Van Dyck to Jimmy's Cafe owner Steve Reynolds to all the members who drove for the project this was a great effort and a great success.  Special Thanks to Mitch Selfing who served as the "Regular" driver more than anyone else.

Lets all have a Great week in Rotary putting Service above Self.
