This week in Rotary
Editors Note:  I am sure all Del Sol Rotarians are shocked and saddened with the horrific events of this weekend in Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas.  Our thoughts and prayers certainly go out to the families of the victims of these tragedies.  El Paso hits especially hard as it is in Rotary District 5520.  Perhaps we as Del Sol Rotarians can thinks of some ways we can help the people in El Paso who were so needlessly harmed.  Herman Haase, Bulletin Editor.

On a happier note last Thursdays meeting featured Joanie Griffen from Sunny 505 speaking on Marketing and Communication from Inside Out.  Joanie, who heads Sunny 505, an advertising and marketing firm, said when marketing we need to get people to answer the question "Why deal with your company".  Focusing on employees and staff Joanie emphasized aspects of a successful work place.  She had a lot of great ideas including "People need to Love Where they work"  and "People need to have some fun at work". She also told us how Millenials like to work remotely and it works out very well for both management and staff.

Tomorrow at the Satellite meeting at 5:15 at Nexus Brewery the speaker will be Jessica Corley speaking on "Asylum Seeking Families"

Rotary Del Sol is now in the process of Charity Selection for the 2020 Governors Ball for New Mexico Children.  Past President Dacia Card is chairing the Charity Selection Committee which will meet on the evening of August 8 to "Vet" and narrow down the charities that have been submitted.  Then, at a Regular meeting, probably on August 15, the Charity finalists will make presentations to the club members.  After that the membership will vote to determine the Charity selected for 2020.  Under our new Joint Venture Agreement with Rotary of Albuquerque we will only select one charity for this years ball.  Members have presented some very excellent charities so this will be a tough decision for the Charity Selection Committee and all Del Sol Rotarians.

Program for this coming Thursday Regular Meeting at Meals on Wheels Cafe is still undetermined.

On Saturday, August 17, at 6:00PM Tony and Julie Pino are hosting Free Loaders at their Home.

Membership Chair Barrie Segall reminds all Del Sol Rotarians that we are in the final month of the Bring a Guest Contest, so lets all remember to bring guests to Regular and Satellite Meetings this month.

Lets all have a Great week in Rotary putting Service above Self.
