On July 12 at the Satellite Meeting Service Projects Chair Chris Van Dyck discussed possible service projects for this Rotary Year with Del Sol Members.  

 

On July 15 at the Morning Meeting for all Del Sol Rotarians, Seth Gardenschwartz of the Blackgarden Law Firm was the guest speaker.  The title of his talk was "Beer for Breakfast" and focused on the Craft Beer industry in New Mexico.  Seth represents local Craft Beer Brewers.  He told us that Craft Beer is a $22.2 Billion business in the USA.

He said that there are 100 craft brewers in New Mxico that employ 2988 employees with sales of $68 Million. 

 

Seth does trademark litigation for brewers and he told us how important trade names are for craft brewers. Bass Ale had the first beer trademark in the USA.

 

Tomorrow at 7:00AM at Jimmy's Cafe and on ZOOM the RDS Board will hold its July meeting.  All Rotarians are welcome to attend.  Club Secretary Davis Riordan will send out a ZOOM link for those who wish to attend online.

 

On Thursday, July 22 at 7:00 AM at Jimmy's Cafe and on ZOOM the Morning Meeting for All Del Sol Rotarians will feature the RDS Foundation Board doing a presentation on the work of the Foundation.  This will be a Club Assembly.  Club Secretary Davis Riordan will send out a link for the ZOOM portion of the  meeting.

 

On July 31, Kent and Melanie Cravens will host the first Freeloaders of the new Rotary year.  Kent will be preparing Ribs and Chicken.  Members attending should bring a side dish to pass.  Online registration is enabled in the Events Calendar.  Please contact Kent or Melanie to inform them of the dish you will be bringing.
