Our Mission at New Mexico Kids Matter is to advocate for children who’ve been abused or neglected by empowering community volunteers to speak up for them in the foster care system.
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. CASAs are volunteers of all backgrounds who make a commitment to advocate for the needs of the child or sibling group with whom they are matched.
CASA volunteers are people from all backgrounds and professions who commit to understanding the life and unique needs of a child or sibling group, attend court hearings related to the case, and make recommendations to the Judge about their best interests.
All too often, the CASA is the only constant adult in the child’s life during a frightening, uncertain time of seemingly endless changes. Few volunteer roles have such a critical and immediate impact on the life of a child, as that of a CASA.
Host quarterly lunch/learns via Zoom – essentially CASA 101.
Host open houses.Next on 11/4.
Meredith E. accepted part-time position as NM Kids Matter Community Engagement Director.
