THIS WEEK IN ROTARY

 

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL DEL SOL ROTARIANS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

 

On December 28, 2020 in lieu of a Satellite Meeting Del Sol Rotarians and family members attended a ZOOM Freeloaders early New Years Party cohosted by President Ed Robertson and Satellite co-chair Jeff Weinrach.

 

Members brought their favorite beverage and spouses or significant others or children to the ZOOM meeting.  President Ed had each member and guest tell us about what was going on in their lives.

 

One of the highlight of the meeting  was that PDG and Past President Doreen Kelsey was able to attend from her new home in Canada and describe her life in rural British Colombia.  

 

Also Jacqueline Hockey got to introduce her son who helped her get onto the ZOOM Meeting. Other members got to tell us about their lives outside of Rotary which was a very nice experience for all of us.  

 

Hopefully with the new vaccines for Covid 19 we will be able to resume in-person meetings and Freeloaders sometime during this next year. We hope, We Hope!!

 

On Thursday January 7, 2021 at 7:00AM we will have our first Morning Meeting for All Del Sol Rotarians of this New Year.  Admin Chair Kent Cravens promises to have a speaker for the meeting.  We don't know the identity of the speaker yet so come on Thursday and be surprised! Club Secretary Davis Riordan has sent out a link to attend.  If you have not been attending due to the ZOOM platform, why not make it one of your New Years Resolutions to try a ZOOM meeting.  Once you try it, we think you will enjoy it.  

 

Service projects still ongoing are the Ramps Project and the Health Care Heroes Project.  Please contact Service Chair Chris Van Dyck or Ramps Project Chair Greg Hallstrom to volunteer.  You can also sign up on the Events Calendar on the website.  

 

Looking toward the next Rotary Year,  President-Elect Brad Ekhoff has his Board pretty much lined up.  We will be voting on the new Board in January.  The various committees all need volunteers.  So, if there is some aspect of Rotary that you feel passionate about, contact Brad to volunteer to serve on a Committee.

 

Treasurer John Gordon has sent out dues invoices.  The easiest way to pay those is with your Venmo Account.  User name for the Club in Venmo is @RotaryDelSol20.
