This week in Rotary
Wow, what a  busy week for Del Sol Rotarians.

It all started Monday April 19 when the Satellite Group resumed Hybrid meetings at Nexus Brewery at 5:30 PM. Some members attended in person and others via ZOOM.  All who attended enjoyed the speaker, District Governor Sunny Kellerman.

On Tuesday at 7:00AM via ZOOM the Del Sol Board held its regular April meeting. Among items discussed was the funding for the Ramps project.  Also the Board received the report form the Del Sol Foundation Board on its proposal for disbursement of the 2020 Permanent Fund.  This will be circulated to all members and will be before the Club Board in May.

Also the Board discussed the resumption of billing for meals for the Morning Meeting members. A poll will be taken of of all morning members about whether they will attend live or on ZOOM and their opinion on how the meal billing should work.  For the time being until July 1, 2021, member will only be billed for the meals for meetings they attend live. That may change after July 1 with a possibility that morning members will be billed for all breakfast meals unless they elect to attend via ZOOM.

Ron Hensley reported on the Rotary Foundation.  Four members completed Grant Training and we have submitted another Global Grant for the Nepal Project.

Tony Pino will present Joe Corazzi a Paul Harris Fellow pin at the Telethon in honor of his work on the Telethon.

On Thursday, April 22, 2021 the morning Meeting was held HYBRID with some members at Jimmy's Cafe and some attending via ZOOM.  Joram Weber, from Bern Switzerland, was the guest speaker via ZOOM. He had been a Rotary Exchange student staying with Tony and Julie Pino in 2010 while he attended La Cueva High school.  Joram described his life in Switzerland since being an Exchange student.  He told us how meaningful his experience was here in Albuquerque.

The rest of the meeting was spent on final preparations for the New Mexico Rotary Telethon.

Last night streaming via You Tube was the New Mexico Rotary Telethon.  Club members held ""Watch Parties" and enjoyed the musical entertainment and bidding on the various Auction Items.  Kudos to Joe Corazzi, producer of the show and event chairs Tony Pino and Ron Hensley.  Also thanks to Brad Ekhoff who served at Auction Chair.  Early returns on numbers show that the event has grossed over $200,000.00 so far. FABULOUS !!!  Members who have not completed their sponsorship payments are urged to do so as soon as possible.

This Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 7:00AM there will be a Morning Meeting for all Del Sol Rotarians. Again it will be a HYBRID Meeting. Speaker for this meeting is undecided at this time but a followup Bulletin will inform members of the speaker and program.

Remember the Ramps Installation on May 1.  More details to follow.

Lets all have a Great week in Rotary putting Service above Self.
