This past week, our special guest presenter was Rhiannon Samuel, who is the Executive Director of NAIOP New Mexico. Its mission is to provide the real estate development industry with a visionary, beneficial and responsive Association, serving developers, owners, investors, and commercial real estate professionals.
Rhiannon's background is impeccable! 16th generation New Mexican, 2021 Woman of Influence, 2019 Albuquerque Business first Forty Under 40 honoree (both before the age of 30!). Rhiannon, you are an inspiration to all of us, and you are welcome back any time!
During the meeting our very own Rotary Wranglers honored our Armed Services for the Memorial Day weekend by playing all four of the songs for the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. Here's the video if you haven't seen it yet:

6. Ramp Project Final Report - Summary Report
Greg Hallstrom recently submitted the final report for our District Grant. Here are the highlights:
Five wheelchair ramps for disabled individuals were constructed. (2 ramps were planned but material costs came down, so we were able to build 5.) Some of these ramps required disassembly of old and unsafe ramps, and safe wheelchair ramps were built using the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines.
The individuals for whom we built the ramps can now get in and out of their houses safely as they go to medical appointments and other activities outside the home. Caregivers are also beneficiaries as they help the people get in and out of their houses safely. The feelings of isolation and depression are reduced, and individuals are able to interact socially outside the home, which can be a prison at times when one cannot get out.
For the Club, we worked on this project 35 Rotarian volunteer days and a total of 180 volunteer hours! HUGE congratulations to Greg, Phil, and everyone who worked on the ramp project!
