THIS WEEK IN ROTARY

 

This bulletin will be brief because your editor is out of town on vacation.

 

At the September 17, 2020 Morning Meeting the speaker was Nancy Bearce, Bernalillo County Treasurer.

 

On September 15 the RDS Board held its regular meeting. Among items discussed was when and how to resume in person meetings.  No decision was made although President Ed said it would have to wait at least until Jimmy’s can be open at 50% capacity.  Also discussed were the various service projects currently going on especially the very successful tree planting project that was the subject of last years District Grant.  Dave Simon reported on the details of that project.  Dave thanked all the volunteers who helped with this worthwhile project to help beautify Albuquerque.

 

Christine Glidden reported on the Navajo Hope Project which is still going full speed ahead.

 

It was also decided to try to extend the Health Care Hero’s project and President  Ed has sent out an email blast about funding that project. Please remember that donations for this project can be made via Venmo.

 

Greg Hallstrom has reported that the Ramps program is continuing this month.  Persons wanting to volunteer for that project should contact Greg for details.

 

Tomorrow, September 21 at 5:30 pm there will be a Satellite Meeting for all Del Sol Rotarians via ZOOM.  Jeff Weinrach has sent out a link for that meeting.  Speaker will be Sheena Fergusson, who will be speaking on “Frontlines of Covid 19.” Sheena was previously the Chief Nursing Officer at UNM Hospital.  

 

Sara Beltran Caro will be inducted at that meeting and Dick Wilkinson will receive his Blue Badge.

 

We are very happy to report that Doreen Kelsey and Julie Frendle have been given Honorary Status in Del Sol.
