Club Happenings

1.  Club Meeting Updates

This past Thursday, our guest presenter was Amy Kindrick with El Ranchito de Los Ninos, a Don Chalmers Memorial Grant Recipient and past Governors Charity Ball recipient!  Thank you so much, Amy, for your update, and we look forward to hearing from you later this Rotary year on how the projects are going!

This Thursday, our guest speaker will be Dr. Meghan Brett, UNM Hospital Epidemiologist, who will give us a Polio update.  Since we had to cancel our Rotary Foundation PolioPlus fundraiser earlier this year, we'll use this meeting to donate money to PolioPlus by having all our Happy Bux go to the Rotary Foundation Polio fund.

2.  Governors Charity Ball Update - focus on Committee participation

As I mentioned this past Thursday, we are getting good feedback on participation in our various Governors Charity Ball Committees, both from our Club and from the Rotary Club of Albuquerque.  We intend to fill out our rosters by the end of the calendar year.

Tonight, I will be sending out a current Committee roster and a form for you to complete regarding your interests in serving on one or more of the Committees.  I have spoken with a number of you, but the form will make it much faster and easier for us to make these determinations.  Thank you in advance for your participation!

3. Christmas Party/Freeloaders!

Jennifer and Bryan Huffaker were awesome hosts last night at our Rotary Del Sol Freeloaders/Christmas party!   Thank you, Jennifer and Bryan, for your hospitality!

4. Upcoming Birthdays and other dates to celebrate, support each other, etc.

December Birthdays!

Mitch Selking - December 29th

Bruce Shaffer - December 31st

A reminder that Robert Brown will be reaching out to you if your birthday is not listed on our website.  If you have any important reasons to celebrate other than birthdays (anniversaries, birth of a child or grandchild, etc.) or reasons for your fellow Club members to support you, pray for you, help you (e.g., loss of a loved one), please let President Jeff know and he will make sure that the Club is notified and that we can respond accordingly.  We are all in this together!

5. Updated Don Chalmers Memorial Grant Information for next year's grants is available on our Club website home page.  Please check it out and contact Club Foundation Chair Dave Seely or Club President Jeff Weinrach if you have any questions.

Rotary Happenings

December is Disease Prevention and Treatment Month, a perfect time to reinforce our efforts to eradicate polio (including by donating to the PolioPlus Fund this coming Thursday during our Club Meeting).
