On August 12, 2021 at the Morning Meeting for all Del Sol Rotarians, District 5520 Governor Bob Rausch was the guest speaker making his annual visit to our club.  He gave a very inspiring and emotional speech titled "Why We Are Here", highlighting some projects done with the Bi-District in Juarez, Mexico.  He also focused on Rotary International's  fight to end Polio.

 

During the meeting Governor Bob and Rotary Foundation Chair Ron Hensley presented Paul Harris Fellow Certificates to Joe Corazzi, Kent Cravens, Lance Ellis and Bill Stewart.

Our newest member Justin Berger was also inducted on August 12. Lets all wish Justin a Big Del Sol Rotary Welcome

On Saturday, August 14, Del Sol, working together with the City of Albuquerque built the largest ramp done to date under the Ramps project. It was 35 feet long and included rebuilding the canopy over the ramp. 16 people showed up from Del Sol, family members from Del Sol and City of Albuquerque staff, to help with this project. Funding for this project comes from a Rotary District Grant and from City of Albuquerque Funds.

Speaking of the Ramp Project, Greg Hallstrom, Chair of the Ramps Project will be the speaker at the August 19 Morning Meeting for All Del Sol Rotarians at 7:00AM at Jimmy's Cafe and on ZOOM. Club Secretary Davis Riordan has sent out a ZOOM link for the Meeting.

 

Tomorrow at 5:30 PM at Nexus Brewery and on ZOOM, the Satellite Meeting will feature Rotary International Director, Suzi Howe speaking on "Shifting Rotary Challenges to Rotary Opportunities:  Lessons Learned and Best Practices from the Covid pandemic". All members are welcome for this exciting presentation.  Come on out, have a cold brew and learn more about Rotary.   Jeff Weinrach has sent out a ZOOM link for the meeting.

 

On Tuesday morning August 17, 2021 at 7:00AM at Jimmy's Cafe and on ZOOM the RDS Board will hold its August meeting.  A number of important issues will be discussed.
