Rotary del Sol is proud to support the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation.
Grant Recipient: Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation
This week we heard from Helen Pino - the Executive Director of the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation The stand-alone hospital is the only outpatient orthopedic hospital for children in the area. The Foundation is the sole fundraising arm for the hospital.
The Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation raises money for the hospital itself - they recently funded a vein finding machine, help for patient's families, and the quality of life program that funds a variety of activities for the kids from wheelchair basketball to summer camps to supported bike rides.
They are always looking for volunteers. Anyone over age 16 is eligible to come and accompany supported bike riders along the Bosque trail.
Bring Your Unwrapped Toys
Elizabeth Montoya is organizing a few Fall Festivals for the Bayer Foundation and Covanant House. She is asking Rotarians to bring unwrapped toys to the club meeting next week to give to the kids who attend the events.
How many toys can we bring next Thursday? Let's try to fill up President Brad's truck...
Rotary Del Sol and Boy Scout Troop 285 join 300+ volunteers at the pre-Balloon Fiesta clean up.
Boy Scouts
Al Erickson and two scouts from Troop 285 visited our meeting to give an update and sell some popcorn. The troop, which has existed since 1954 is grateful that our club stepped is as sponsor. They were down to just 6 members during the pandemic - but now are back up to 35 scouts. We our proud of our sponsored troop for their hard work this year!
Thank you to the crew who got up bright and early to help out at the Balloon Fiesta merchandise tent.
