• Jon Montgomery, Executive Director, ABQ Little Theater.
  • Founded in 1935 by Kathleen Kennedy O’Conner.  Located at the KIMO downtown.
  • Theater began in ancient Greece as storytelling.
  • Became a political tool but main purpose was to entertain.
  • Theater combines all the other arts.
  • Community theater build creativity, confidence and connection.
  • ABQ Little Theater is one of Albuquerque’s “Big Three” theaters and part of a 40+theater community.
  • Theater in strong demand – 150+ audition signups this season for “Mean Girls.” Already 95 for “Arsenic and Old Lace.”
  • ABQ Little Theater uses local actors and is expanding education programs.
  • Their goal is to help train local talent for future film and TV opportunities in Albuquerque.
  • Vivian Vance (I Love Lucy) and Don Knotts (Andy Griffith Show) both performed at the ABQ Little Theater.
  • Vivian Vance’s Emmy sits in the theater lobby.
