This week in Rotary
On April 28, 2022 at the Morning Meeting for All Del Sol Rotarians Christine Glidden was the speaker via ZOOM from Nepal.  She led a group discussion and report from several Nepal Rotarian leaders about the Women 2 Be project supported by Del Sol in small rural villages in Nepal. The main speaker from Nepal was Ishu Subha who explained that the new sewing center in her village will provide 3000 menstrual products kits for poor women and girls in her area.  She said that having these kits really helps the mental health of the women recipients and allows them to stay in school and delay an early marriage.

The project also helps the economic life of the community.  This project is done in conjunction with Women 2 Be which gave a $10000 Grant, Del Sol and Rotary Club Rudramati in Nepal.

Past President Sudip of the Rudramati Club discussed a new project to support the local School for the Deaf by providing a bakery where students can work as well as a sewing center for Menstrual kits.  These projects will provide a place to work for the Deaf School graduates who often cannot get jobs in the community due to their disability.
