This week in Rotary
On May 13 at the Morning Meeting for all Del Sol Rotarians, Lee Black, President of the Oregon Trail Association  was the guest speaker.  He described the work and Mission of the the Association which is to  preserve remnants of the trail and to emphasize the history it had in the development of the American West.  Lee, who is a former Rotarian and a Charter Member of Del Sol is retired from the New Mexico Baptist Foundation.

The Oregon Trail  Association, which has no employed people is partially funded by the National Park Service and the rest of their funding comes from membership subscriptions and donations. They have done admirable work in finding and maintaining little know artifacts associated with the Trail.

Lee also described his other passion which is lecturing at schools around the Country on various aspects of U.S. history which he feels are not being emphasized in our schools.

An enjoyable surprise at the meeting was the first performance of the Rotary Wranglers  since the shut down due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Kudos and Hats Off to outgoing District Governor Sunny Kellerman on a Great Rotary Year in which she had many achievements under trying circumstances due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.  Good Job, Sunny!!!
